Warning Signs of Problem Gambling
These don't necessarily mean someone has a gambling problem, but they're worth paying attention to. The more that apply, the more urgent a conversation becomes.
- You gamble with money you need for rent, bills, or essentials
- You lie to friends or family about how much you gamble
- You chase losses — betting more to try to win back what you've already lost
- You borrow money, sell possessions, or use credit to fund gambling
- You feel anxious, irritable, or guilty after gambling sessions
- You neglect work, school, or relationships because of gambling
- You can't stop or cut back even when you want to
- You gamble to escape stress, boredom, or difficult emotions
Self-Exclusion Tools
If you want to stop gambling for a fixed period, every reputable casino offers self-exclusion. Once activated, the casino blocks your account and prevents new deposits for the period you choose (typically 6 months, 1 year, or 5 years).
For multi-casino exclusion (i.e. you want to be blocked from every licensed operator in your jurisdiction), these national registers help:
- UK: GAMSTOP
- US (state-by-state): Each state's gaming commission runs its own list. See NCPG's state directory
- Ontario, Canada: My PlayBreak
- Australia: BetStop (national)
- Germany: OASIS
Deposit Limits and Reality Checks
Every casino we list supports deposit limits — daily, weekly, or monthly caps that the casino enforces. If you set a $200 weekly deposit limit, the casino will not let you deposit above $200 in a 7-day window, regardless of how much you have in your wallet.
Most casinos also offer "reality check" pop-ups that interrupt play every 30 / 60 / 90 minutes to show how long you've been playing and your net win/loss for the session. If you're not already using these, turn them on.
Our Commitment
Gamba Degens will never:
- Target content at anyone under 18
- Hide wagering requirements or fees in fine print
- Promote a casino that fails our responsible-gambling audit (no self-exclusion, no deposit limits, no support links in footer)
- Publish "guaranteed win" or "system beats the house" claims
If you spot something on this site that crosses one of those lines, please tell us in the Telegram. We take corrections seriously.
If you're reading this because of a recent loss or a streak of bad decisions, you haven't failed at anything — the games are designed so the house wins on average. The math isn't personal. Asking for help is the right move, and the people on the other end of these hotlines want to help.
